Stephen Miahky has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout North America and Europe. His most recent engagements include performances at the Saudade Music Festival, Monadnock Music, New York City’s Merkin Hall, Symphony Space, Bargemusic and Roulette, Atlanta’s ProMozart Society, the American Academies in Rome and Berlin, NPR’s Performance Today, and for the Dalai Lama on his most recent trip to the United States.


Miahky has performed as a soloist with the Ann Arbor Symphony, the University of Michigan Philharmonia, the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, and the Cornell Symphony Orchestra on their recent tour of Germany.  He has performed with members of the Juilliard, Tokyo, Cleveland, Concord, Blair, and Los Angeles  Piano Quartets, and was a former member of the prize-winning iO and Bryant Park Quartets.


Miahky is a member of the new music ensemble Brave New Works and a rotating concertmaster of the IRIS Orchestra.  He received his B.M. and M.M. from the University of Michigan and a D.M.A. from Rutgers University, and furthered his education at the Meadowmount School of Music, the Blossom Music Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival.  Miahky can be heard on the AMP, New Dynamic, Naxos, Edition Modern, and Bridge record labels.


A former member of the Cornell University faculty, Miahky currently serves on the faculty of the Ohio University School of Music.  He can be found most often thinking about his next meal, spending time with his fiancee and WWCMF musician Christina McGann, and their dog, Thomas.
