Jennifer

Goltz-Taylor

has a voice full of subtle allure and sprightly energy.

Soprano Jennifer Goltz-Taylor specializes in new chamber music and art song. In recent years she has premiered works by Robert Morris, Michael Daugherty, Andrew Mead, Forrest Pierce, and many others; in 2013 she will premiere a monodrama for solo soprano by John Berners and a new opera by Kamran Ince.

She is a founding member of the new music ensemble Brave New Works. Her collaboration with composer-pianist Logan Skelton spans more than a decade, two continents, and seven song cycles. At the invitation of the composer, she performed Luciano Berio’s Circles at the Salzburg Music Festival’s Boulez and Berio Celebration.

She has recorded for Albany, Centaur, and MSR Classics. Her recording of Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot lunaire and Brettl-lieder with the Los Angeles-based ensemble Inauthentica was hailed by Gramophone magazine as “captivating” and “brilliant.... a voice full of subtle allure and sprightly energy.”

She holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and a Ph.D. in Music Theory from the University of Michigan.
